Modern Christian artists consider themselves gods, which is essentially “an idolatry of creativity. The point of creating a work of art is ‘the shock of the new,’ creating something that hasn’t been created before, or doing something that hasn’t been done before.”

New Mantra

Poisoned, decayed, diseased, blind, lame, starving...

These are just a few metaphors for the status of our culture and world...

Am I a poison or a soothing balm?

Am I an instrument of injury or repair?

My new mantra: Be Medicine.

  1. I think the metaphor that I found very comforting, with true purpose defined was said by the late D.L. Moody.

    *my paraphrase*

Don't try to save the ship it is destined to sink. Save passengers out of the ship.

Our goal as Christians isn't to change culture to make it look or feel more Christian. That is just making excuses for our fleshly appetites. Rather we should take care of the widows and orphans (including non-believing ones), this is pure and undefiled religion. Through out history, it is those single acts that changed the world. (i.e. 500 AD Roman Caesar's remarks, quoted in Don't Waste Your Life)

GREAT POST Kacy!!! Love it! And love the new background.

  3. less of me and more of Thee. . .often times the process of becoming real is more about sloughing off and losing the unreal in order for us to find that which we cannot lose. . .Loving . . serving. . bowing. . .

    love you Kacy

    Be Medicine...

I think you remind me of this more than anyone I know.

  5. Why do we expect the world to be different? Emmanuel, His name is called Emmanuel, God with us, revealed in us. GOD IS WITH US....NOT the world. Thank you Jesus that you came for me.

All is grace and all is Sacred. . .And i am sure Wes is there. . .i just haven't meet him yet. . .maybe soon?. . .
